Can you make yourself feel good even when you don’t want to? … You know, you’re in the middle of an argument with someone you love or you’re simply pissy at the end of a long day. Can you make yourself feel good? Especially when you don’t want to feel good? (You know, those moments when you’re “entitled” to be an ass just b/c…) I’d recommend you start training yourself to feel good. Even when you don’t want to. ESPECIALLY when you don’t want to. Some tips? Move. Go for a walk. Dance. Smile. Be totally goofy. Laugh at yourself. Think of 5 things for which you’re grateful. Pick up a baby and look into its eyes. Pet a dog. Turn on some music. Move your body. Jump up and down. Do any # of the infinite array of positive actions you know how to take—the stuff that makes you feel most alive. Just do it. Especially when you don’t feel like it. Life is short. Let’s enjoy it.
