(Now, perhaps? :)</p><p align="justify">I&rsquo;m not saying you should pretend that your dad wasn&rsquo;t a frightening alcoholic who scared the sh*t out of you and with whom you never had one conversation (like mine). </p><p align="justify">I&rsquo;m just suggesting that you think about the lessons learned, the beauty.</p><p align="justify">Obviously, our biggest challenges are what forged us. So why wouldn&rsquo;t we have a <em>deep</em>, deep appreciation for it all? And celebrate the childhood that birthed our souls?!?</p><p align="justify">I can now appreciate the depth of my dad&rsquo;s sensitivity that he just couldn&rsquo;t handle. I can appreciate how hard he worked to give us what we had.
